Coconut Milk

Pure coconut milk in a can. Make your milk soaps richer and creamier with the addition of coconut milk. Use at very light trace or sooner for best results and deduct from the water required in your soap making recipe, the amount of coconut milk you will be using. For 2lbs of oils, 6oz of coconut milk will do just fine, it's that rich. As an example, if your recipe called for 10oz water, and you were going to be using 6oz coconut milk, dissolve your lye in 4oz's of water and add to your oils when cooled. As you start mixing, add in the coconut milk, which should be at room temperature. Try adding about 1 teaspoon of sugar for each lb of oils also for even more luxurious lather. Shake the can well prior to use to mix and blend due to separation that occurs. The top layer will be thick coconut cream, if not shaken.

Coconut MilkThis coconut milk is produced and canned in Thailand.
Large 19 fl oz can: $3.75
