Here's a basic goats milk soap recipe that works well by freezing the goats milk.
I've found that by freezing the goats milk, it tends to help reduce the dark brown or tan
color that can be associated with the goats milk becoming to hot when the lye is added.
All measurements are by weight and not liquid volume.
38oz Olive Oil
18ozPalm Oil
18oz Coconut Oil
2oz Sweet Almond Oil
2oz Shea Butter
2oz Castor Oil (adds more lather)
2oz distilled water & 26oz Goats Milk
11.25oz Lye
Essential or Fragrance oil of you choice.
Temps for oils and lye
mixture should be about 90 to 100 degrees.
Place the goats milk in a 1 gallon size zip lock baggie
and allow to freeze, laying flat.
Place the 2oz's of water into the container that you will
be adding and mixing you lye in. Now break up the frozen goats milk and add to the water to total
26oz's.
Total liquid weight of water and goats milk is 28oz.
Slowly add your lye over the top of the frozen goats milk chunks while stirring the entire time. The
frozen goats milk will also help reduce the time it will take for the lye mixture to cool.
Once your temps are where they need to be, add the lye mixture to your oils and mix
until trace
